The purpose of this post is to establish a mission statement of sorts for this blog. You must have gotten a glimpse of this in the ABOUT ME section. For those who missed it:

Albert Einstein once said:

“I have no special talents, I am just passionately curious”.

I aspire to maintain this attitude not only towards my research but also towards life. I am hoping this blog will help me with that. If I can help even one person, even if it is just myself, in rediscovering the joy and excitement in being consistently and passionately curious, I will consider this blog a success.

Let’s break this down.

What is this blog about? This blog, as you might have deduced from the title, is primarily divided into two sections. The Machine Learning section will have posts related to my current research, projects and basically any Machine Learning/AI/Math related topics I find interesting enough to share. The Meditations section has more personal posts about topics and issues that are important to me as well as my personal experiences and opinions. The keyword here is personal.

Why did I make this blog? The blog is my attempt at rediscovering and maintaining my curiosity and passion towards my research and life in general. Too often, we get caught so up in the details of our work and life that with each passing day it becomes harder and harder to keep track of the bigger picture, the important questions. My hope is that each post will give me the opportunity to pause and ask these questions and in the process discover new things about work, life and myself.

How is this blog going to help me and you? Although the how is very much linked to the why, it still deserves it’s own section. If Why is the concept, How is the execution. The way I am going to make sure this blog fulfill’s it’s purpose is by trying to ask simple but thought-provoking questions and then attempt to answer it the best I can. I want each question to arouse my curiosity and the process of answering it to leave me amazed and in awe. I sincerely hope that each post will do the same for you, and maybe, just maybe inspire you to ask your own questions.
